In a sense, it is like a hotel, except AirBnB does not own any of the real estate. In fact, it just facilities the matchup of the owners with traveling renters, or guests, as Airbnb calls them. The company worked hard to attract it customers, and knew things like professional photos and professional AirBnB cleaning was essential to the success. The basis of the platform works like this. AirBnB Cleaning Needs: How Are They Different?

Many of our new Airbnb Cleaning clients in Calgary will ask us, what needs to be done differently when someone gets hired to clean an Short term Rental, versus a regular cleaning service thats usually done weekly or biweekly. Before we can explain the details, we must point out one major influencing fact/ differentiator. When we clean a regular home or condo, and its set as a reoccurring clean, we are for the most part cleaning for the same people staying. To clarify, the same people reside in the home, and are just getting help to keep their home shiny, using pour maid services. When the time comes to clean a vacation rental, we must realize that the guests arriving after we are done cleaning, are not the same ones that just left. You have a full guest/ personal turnover, and because of that, the standards are higher and special items needs to be sanitized and cleaned. During a guest turnover, no stone goes unturned. New renters do not want ANY evidence of the last renters. With regular clients, they set a budget for time and cost, and for most of them, there are tradeoffs. For example, many reoccurring biweekly cleaning clients do not want/need their sheets changed on their beds. Or their towels to be washed and clean ones hung up. They tackle this kind of  linen cleaning items themselves, and they hire us to focus on the elbow grease part. There is a basic cleaning kit ( and I don’t mean basic in supplies, but more of a “standard” cleaning kit”). Having over 7 years of AirBnB and STR cleaning experience, we have noticed that the maids for STR will have a few extra items. For starters,  they will generally have a lighter weight vacuum, because of all the high rise buildings with no elevators, and the many floors in large upscale listings. Since Airbnb Cleaning is hardly ever as harsh on the cleaning staff as a deep move out, or a post contraction clean, they can get away with high quality, light weigh vacuum cleaners. Many of them will also have special vacuum attachments for pet hair, because these rentals can be pet friendly. Mr clean erasers are another another secret special tool we like to carry around. You would not believe the scuffs and food splatter that can end up on some of these walls. As long as the owner of the rental has a good quality washable paint on the walls, like this Delux brand ” clean freaks” paint, our magic wall erasers will keep the walls fresh, and limit the need to constantly have to repaint. Another unique cleaning item we will carry, is a all purpose stain remover. Too many spills and stain occur during short term rental stays. This is a big reason why hotels will have all white sheets and towels. This way, they can clean the snot out of them. Our team will carry eco friendly stain remover, for all the little carpet stains, linen stains, towel stains, and rug stains. In a regular clean, ( not AirBnB specific), we generally would not stain remove items, as that falls under the homeowners responsibility.

How quickly can I book you for my turnover?

Although we are always staffed up to take on short term, emergency, and last minute cleans, to ensure you get the best experience and the proper trained staff, the more notice you give for your Airbnb Cleaning needs, the better 

Do you take care of linens and laundry for our short term rental?

Our team will accommodate any linen situation you may have. We understand al buildings and apartments/houses are different in Calgary, and were built in different years to different specs, so convenient on site laundry may not always be available. Do I just leave cash for the licensers at the rental unit?

NO! Please don’t do that. We do not allow any cash payments, and do not allow our staff to handle money. Even if a guest leaves money at the listing, we will not take it. This prevents misunderstandings, and keeps the relationship professional between client, and maid service. 

Can your company restock supplies and get them from the store for us?
